Glad Volkswagen had decided to build cars in the US. They should build where they sell. US is the largest market for them and German engineering always was respected and appreciated in the US

I own 40 to 50 MPG VW's built in the USA A 1981 Rabbit Diesel Pickup and a 1985 Golf : Both built in Pennsylvania before the UAW drove VW out of the country Now there are VW plants in Br4azil and Mexi8co

Perfect illustration of what's at the heart of the problem for the Detroit auto industry. It's not a lack of American know-how or skilled workers, it's the stranglehold the unions put on the Big 3 that blew them out of the driver's seat. Once the trade unions got in bed with the government, adopting government's essential nature of coercive behavior, it was only a matter of time.
